Beth Grant is best known for her roles as Helen the hysterical bus passenger in SPEED, and as Sissy Hickey in the cult hit SORDID LIVES. She can also be seen in the upcoming film MATCHSTICK MEN with Nicolas Cage for director Ridley Scott. Other favorite roles include Dennis Quaid's mother in THE ROOKIE, Mark Wahlberg's mom in ROCKSTAR, Kitty Farmer in DONNIE DARKO opposite Jake Gyllenhaal, the town drunk in TO WONG FOO..., and her classic farm wife, Eve, in the Academy Award-winning RAIN MAN. Beth also appeared in Sandra Bullock's directorial debut MAKING SANDWICHED which premiered at the Sundance Shorts Festival. Beth's career blossomed with the roles of Ana in the world premiere of Maya Angelou's ON A SOUTHERN JOURNEY. She followed this performance with a production of PICNIC starring Gregory Harrison and Jennifer Jason Leigh, then SUMMER AND SMOKE with Christopher Reeve and Christine Lahti. Both productions were directed by Marshall Mason at the Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles. DOLITTLE. On Television, Beth has appeared on FRIENDS, MURDER SHE WROTE, THE PRETENDER, SOMETHING SO RIGHT, THE X-FILES, and most recently MALCOLM IN THE MIDDLE.
