Emma Samms

Emma Samms entered into the world of entertainment as a ballerina, having been accepted into the Royal Ballet School in London at age 11. After six years of intensive training, a hip injury forced her to explore new fields. She began modeling at age 16 for a leading Japanese cosmetic firm and appeared in fashion magazines around the world, including Vogue.

Samms' first film audition won her the starring role in the motion picture fantasy Arabian Adventure opposite Christopher Lee and Mickey Rooney, earning her the British Film Industry's award for Most Promising Newcomer. Later, she relocated to the U.S. and after numerous TV guest appearances, was cast in the mini-series Goliath Awaits with Mark Harmon.

Samms' big break came in 1982 when she was chosen to portray Holly Sutton on the ABC daytime drama General Hospital. Following General Hospital, Samms joined the Carrington/Colby household as Fallon on the prime-time dramas The Colbys (1985-1986) and Dynasty (1987-1989). She was later reunited with the cast for ABC's Dynasty: The Reunion in 1991.

Since her days on Dynasty, Samms has concentrated on feature films for TV and theatrical distribution. She starred in the NBC movie-of-the-week A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court and the comedy Shrimp on the Barbie with Cheech Marin. Samms' comedic talent was further displayed with starring roles in Delirious opposite the late John Candy and Disney Channel's Bejewelled. Her extensive credits also include Fatal Inheritance with Corbin Bernsen, Illusions, a psychological thriller, NBC's Shadow of a Stranger and Robin Cook's CBS movie Harmful Intent opposite Tim Matheson. Samms has appeared on numerous TV series including FOX's Models, Inc., Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, Diagnosis Murder and Newhart, and she provided a voice in the animated Miramax feature, The Adventures of Tom Thumb and Thumbelina.

The multi-talented Samms completed a screenplay entitled His Bodyguard which aired on USA Network in 1998 and is currently working on a script for Peakviewing Transatlantic Entertainment, as well as a children's book. She has become a respected professional photographer recognized by Revlon, Architectural Digest and American Photo magazine.

Samms co-founded the Starlight Foundation, an international charity organization, devoted to helping seriously ill children and their families. Currently living in England, she takes part in a variety of charitable endeavors in the U.K.
