Jennifer Garner
Garner was recently honored as Female Star of the Year at the 2012 CinemaCon awards ceremony for her role in The Odd Life of Timothy Green.
On October 12th, Garner will star in The Weinstein Company's Butter, which she also produced through her company, Vandalia Films. A comedy set in the Midwest, Butter was written by Jason A. Micallef, directed by Jim Field Smith and co-stars Hugh Jackman, Ty Burrell and Olivia Wilde. The film premiered to critical acclaim at the Toronto Film Festival.
Garner starred opposite Jason Bateman and Ellen Page in Fox Searchlight's award winning feature Juno. Juno won an abundance of awards, including a Broadcast Film Critics Association and Independent Spirit Award for €˜Best Comedy' and €˜Best Feature Film' respectively.
In 2005 Garner started her own production company with her personal assistant of many years, Juliana Janes.
The company, Vandalia Films, is named after the original name for the state of West Virginia, where Garner is from. They have multiple projects on the horizon: the aforementioned Butter for The Weinstein Company and several projects in development, including the adaptation of Jane Fallon's book Got You Back, Miss Marple, a film written by Mark Frost, as well as a Lifetime movie titled Hanna's Road that takes place in West
On the small screen, Garner was honored with numerous acting awards, including a Golden Globe , Screen Actors Guild and People's Choice Award for her memorable portrayal of CIA double-agent Sydney Bristow on the J.J. Abrams' television show Alias. Over the course of the show's five-season run, Garner was nominated for four Emmy Awards, four Golden Globes and two Screen Actors Guild Awards . Garner received rave reviews for her revival of Roxanne in the Broadway production of Cyrano de Bergerac opposite Kevin Kline. Her impressive resume of film credits includes Warner Bros.' Arthur, Valentine's Day, The Invention of Lying, Ghosts of Girlfriends Past, Universal Pictures' The Kingdom, Revolution Studios' smash hit 13 Going on 30, Twentieth Century Fox's blockbuster hit Daredevil, the spinoff of Fox's Daredevil entitled Elektra, Pearl Harbor and the 20th Century Fox comedy, Dude, Where's My Car?
Currently serving as a brand ambassador for Neutrogena where she is featured in national television and print campaigns, for the past three years Garner has also held the position of Artist Ambassador with Save the Children's U.S. Programs. Her work focuses on advocating for the expansion of the organization's early education programs. She was solely responsible for bringing the first-ever arm of Save the Children programs to her home state of West Virginia.
Garner was born in Houston, Texas, raised in Charleston, West Virginia, and currently resides in Los Angeles with her family.
