A.J. Langer
Perhaps best known for her role as Rayanne Graff on the ground-breaking television drama series, My So-Called Life, Langer received rave reviews and a tremendous fan following for her work as the brash and fun-loving best friend of Angela Chase (Claire Danes).
A native of Columbus, Ohio, Allison Joy Langer moved to Los Angeles with her family at the age of five. She acquired the nickname A.J. while playing baseball on an all-boy Little League team. As student body president in the ninth grade, the honors student came to the attention of an Algebra teacher who first introduced her to the idea of acting as a career. She eventually met Ernie Lively, who became her acting coach and a mentor.
Langer made her feature film debut as Alice in Wes Craven's The People Under the Stairs, and followed it up with a co-starring role in And You Thought Your Parents Were Weird. She most recently starred in Walt Disney Pictures' Meet the Deedles, and also starred opposite Kurt Russell in John Carpenter's Escape from L.A.
On television Langer was a series regular on Drexell's Class and had recurring roles on Brooklyn South and Coach. Additional television credits include Seinfeld, Touched by an Angel, The Wonder Years, In the Heat of the Night, Beverly Hills, 90210, and the NBC miniseries Naomi & Wynona: Love Can Build a Bridge.
When not working, Langer enjoys keeping up with sports, particularly football and baseball. In addition she enjoys fishing, hiking, camping, adventure fitness training and surfing. She currently resides in Los Angeles.
