Nicol Williamson
Nicol Williamson (Born September 14, 1938), a Scotland-born actor, was described by British playwright John Osborne as the greatest actor since Marlon Brando. Nicol was born to a struggling working-class Scottish family, but managed to attend the Birmingham School of Speech & Drama.
Williamson appeared in the movie Excalibur (1981), but he so disliked co-star, actress Helen Mirren, that director John Boorman purposefully cast them as the rivals Merlin and Morgana, against both of their protests, because he thought their real life disdain for each other would generate more tension on screen, as per the Internet Movie Database.
