Nancy McKeon
She landed her first job in the industry at the age of two. Several years later, after her brother, Philip, landed the role of Tommy on Alice, she moved with her family from Queens, New York to Los Angeles, where, at age 12, McKeon got her first TV role on the ABC hit series Starsky and Hutch. She went on to guest star in several series and telefilms including ABC's police drama Stone with Dennis Weaver and the CBS groundbreaking telefilm Question of Love with Jane Alexander and Gena Rowlands, the story of a homosexual couple fighting for custody of a child. In 1980, McKeon joined the cast during the second season of NBC's long-running series, The Facts of Life, and endeared herself to audiences as Jo Polniaczek. Some of her additional television credits include: A Cry For Help: The Tracy Thurman Story; the CBS miniseries Love, Honor & Obey: The Last Mafia Marriage, with Eric Roberts; A Mother's Gift, an epic production for CBS with Adrian Pasdar; and the NBC telefilm In the Child's Name.
In her search for challenging and moving roles, McKeon has also taken on the role of producer and director. In 1995, McKeon helped develop the sitcom Can't Hurry Love for CBS. She has also produced and starred in two telefilms for NBC: Firefighters, about the first female firefighter in Los Angeles, and Strange Voices, in which she portrayed a woman suffering from schizophrenia. McKeon directed a short film entitled A Wakening, which she also wrote and produced. A Wakening won both Best First Short Film and Best Drama at Florida's 2000 Marco Island Film Festival. In 2002, she directed an episode of The Division.
In 1992, McKeon made her feature film debut in Where the Day Takes You. With an ensemble cast that included Dermot Mulroney, Balthazar Getty, Kyle MacLachlan, Laura San Giacomo and Christian Slater, McKeon's performance drew notice from critics in the United States and abroad. She has also starred in the independent feature Teresa's Tattoo.
McKeon currently resides in Los Angeles.
