Tracey Needham
When Needham was eight years old, her family moved from her native Dallas, Texas to Denver, Colorado, but because of her father's work they often had to shuttle back and forth between the two cities. She had grown to her full statuesque height by the eighth grade, but despite her strong interest in acting, her high school theater director told Needham she was too tall to appear on stage and advised her to work behind the scenes on the technical crew instead.
Following graduation from high school, Needham traveled through Europe and Australia. In 1988, she arrived in Los Angeles to study acting and audition for roles. She made her television debut in the dramatic series Jake and the Fatman, and after a few more acting classes, got her first big break playing the part of Paige Thatcher, the free-spirited older sister, on the critically acclaimed ABC series Life Goes On.
Needham's other television credits include Steve Bochco's series Total Security, with Jim Belushi and VR.5, with Lori Singer. She starred in the television movie version of Bonnie and Clyde, as well as in the telefilms Prophet of Evil, Lush Life, Sensation, with Eric Roberts, Last Stand at Saber River, opposite Tom Selleck and The Ponder Heart with director Martha Coolidge.
Needham, married to actor Tommy Hinkley, resides in Los Angeles.
