Eminem
Eminem makes his motion picture debut in 8 Mile. Eminem is a multi-platinum recording artist whose controversial lyrics have sparked heated discussions ever since he burst onto the scene with The Slim Shady LP, which sold more than seven million copies worldwide and captured the Gram my Award for Best Rap Album in 2000. He also won the Grammy for Best Rap Solo Performance that year, as well as two MTV Music Awards and two Billboard Music Video Awards. His follow-up album, The Marshall Mathers LP, took the Grammy for Best Rap Album in 2001 while Eminem once again won the Grammy for Best Rap Solo Performance that year. His most recent album, The Eminem Show, is the top-selling album of this year.
Raised in Detroit, Michigan, Eminem began his musical career there, making a name for himself performing in the city's now-legendary hip hop venues, including the now defunct Rhythm Kitchen, The Shelter and The Hip-Hop Shop.
Through his label, Shady Records, Eminem executive produced the debut album Devil's Night for D-12 (Dirty Dozen) of which he is also a member, which sold more than three million copies worldwide.
