Amy Carlson

Emmy Award nominee Amy Carlson (Another World) joined the cast of NBC's drama Third Watch in the fall of 2000 as Alex Taylor, a former paramedic-turned-firefighter who hails from a family of fellow firefighters. I'm fortunate to have the opportunity to portray women who challenge and transcend female stereotypes, says Carlson.

Carlson previously portrayed the wife of the title character (played by Jason Gedrick) in the drama series Falcone. In addition to a recurring role on Fox's Get Real, Carlson guest-starred on NYPD Blue, NBC's Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.

Carlson's film credits include If These Walls Could Talk ,Part 2 with Nia Long and Chloe Sevigny and Thanks of a Grateful Nation, with Ted Danson and Brian Dennehy, as well as several independent features. Carlson will soon appear in Winning Girls Through Psychic Mind Control, starring Bronson Pinchot and Ruben Santiago-Hudson.

Prior to her work in primetime, Carlson appeared on the NBC daytime drama Another World. Her portrayal of Josie Watts Sinclair earned her an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in 1998.

Carlson has traveled the world extensively and has visited every state in the U.S. She currently resides in New York City. Her birthday is July 7.
