Gordon Jackson
Gordon Cameron Jackson, OBE (1923-1990), was a prolific Scottish character actor, best known for his roles in the film The Great Escape and the television series, Upstairs Downstairs (for which he won a best supporting actor Emmy Award) and The Professionals.
Jackson also received a Logie Award (Australian) for his work in the TV adaptation of A Town Like Alice. One of his last major film appearances was in The Shooting Party (1985).
Jackson was born in Glasgow, Scotland, and was married to Scottish actress Rona Anderson.
Gordon Jackson died in London of bone cancer.
