Sammy Jackson
Jackson, Sammy (1937-1995) was an American actor and country music disc jockey.
Born in Henderson, North Carolina, Jackson began working on-air in radio in 1968 while also acting in a number of motion pictures and doing guest roles in television series. In 1964-1965, he starred in the ABC television sitcom, No Time for Sergeants.
Jackson was voted Best Country Jock of the Year at the 1973 Billboard Radio Programming Forum. In 1980 he was voted the Country Music Association Country personality of the year. In the 1980s, Jackson worked for a radio station in Las Vegas and in 1992 starred in the pilot film, Casino.
