Dean Jones
Although Dean Jones is perhaps best known for his comedy roles in such films as The Love Bug, Under the Yum Yum Tree, The Ugly Dachshund, The Million Dollar Duck, The Shaggy D.A. and Herbie Goes to Monte Carlo, Jones has also made dramatic films like The New Interns, Never So Few, Other People's Money and When Every Day Was the Fourth of July. He was recently seen opposite Harrison Ford in Tom Clancy's Clear and Present Danger, in the hit film Beethoven and currently stars in A Brush With Time: Christmas ‘96.
When not performing, Jones is a social activist involved in international child care, problems of the homeless, world hunger and politics. After 40 films, 4 Broadway shows, and twentysomething years of television, Jones published his autobiography Under Running Laughter, and is producing a film of Frank Peretti's best-selling book The Present Darkness.
On the stage, Jones recently did a one-man play, St. John in Exile that was warmly received by critics. Jones also recently completed The Love Bug Reunion television movie for ABC and Disney. Jones has three children with his wife, writer Lory Basham Jones.
