At the age of 28, New Orleans native Master P made Forbes' 1998 list of highest paid entertainers, having made a reported $57 million that year alone. Not bad for a budding entrepreneur who started selling tapes out of the trunk of his car. Determined to remain independent, he founded his own company, No Limit Records, which is still the only independently owned and operated hip-hop label.

The company has branched out from the music business to become a force in film through its No Limit Films division, for which Master P starred in, wrote and produced, FOOLISH and I GOT THE HOOK UP. Master P's other credits include I'M BOUT IT, MP DA LAST DON (actor, writer, director); RHYME & REASON, NO TOMORROW, TAKEDOWN, and HOT BOYZ and 911 (actor). On LOCKDOWN, Master P is the executive producer as well as co-starring in this hard-hitting indictment of the criminal justice system.

Master P has recorded five solo albums: The Ghetto's Trying To Kill Me, 99 Ways To Die, Ice Cream Man, Ghetto D, and MP Da Last Don. As a member of the band Tru, with brothers C-Murder and Silkk the Shocker, he recorded True, TRU to D Game, and TRU Niggaz. He also recorded Goodfellaz with the band Da 504 Boyz. Master P is also highly sought out for guest spots on other artists' albums, and has appeared on recordings with LL Cool J, Westside Connection, Montell Jordan, Snoop Dogg, Scarface, Mia X, among many others. Soon to come from Master P - his No Limit Army, which includes Snoop Dogg, C-Murder, and Mia X.

Not content with just being a dynamo in music and film, Master P, a former all-state high school basketball star who played in the Continental Basketball League for the Fort Wayne Fury, he's just been signed to the Toronto Raptors of the NBA! Maybe that was what lay behind the recent marketing partnership between Converse and No Limit, which will produce co-branded footwear to complement the No Limit Clothing label.
