Kevin Michael Richardson

Audiences are undoubtedly familiar with the amazing vocal talents of Kevin Michael Richardson, who has been more widely heard than seen, having created hundreds of animated, commercial and video game characters over the past years. Memorable animated characters he has brought to life are The Boogeyman in The Powerpuff Girls, Barney Rubble in The Flintstones: On The Rocks and Plato in the PBS series Book of Virtues. His extensive repertoire also includes characters in the Disney animated series Kim Possible, Teacher's Pet, The Proud Family, Phil of the Future, Hercules and Recess.

In addition to these successful shows, Richardson has worked on episodes of Batman, American Dad, The Boondocks, The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius, Family Guy, Teen Titans, The Fairly OddParents, Justice League, The Mummy: The Animated Series, The Animatrix, SpongeBob SquarePants, Pokemon, The Wild Thornberrys, Recess, Superman, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest and Hey Arnold!

In film Richardson's voice was featured in Disney's hit animated movie Lilo & Stitch, and continues in the animated series of the same name as Captain Gantu, as well as the role of Cobra Bubbles. Additional Disney animated films are The Proud Family Movie, "Buzz Lightyear of Star Command: The Adventure Begins, Kim Possible: So the Drama, Mulan II, George of the Jungle 2, Mickey's House of Villains, All Dogs Go to Heaven 2 and Tarzan & Jane. Other animated films include The Matrix Revolutions, The Wild, Hoodwinked, The Happy Elf, Family Guy Presents: Stewie Griffin - The Untold Story, The Wild Thornberrys Movie, Recess: Schools Out, Rugrats in Paris: The Movie, Tom Sawyer and Batman Beyond."

Videogame fans may recognize Richardson as Deus Machinas in the upcoming third installment of the Matrix trilogy, Matrix III: Revolutions. Further videogames featuring his voice are Halo 2, Enter the Matrix, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb, Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace, Law & Order II: Double or Nothing, Kingdom Hearts II, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine - The Fallen and many others.

Currently he also can be heard on national television commercials as the smiley-face price-buster for Wal-Mart and the voice of Southwest Airlines. Additionally, he was the on-air announcer for the 2000 Emmy Awards telecast.

Richardson has worked extensively in front of the camera as well. He recently starred opposite Holly Robinson Peete in The WB comedy Like Family, as the family patriarch, and is especially proud of the three-episode arc on ER in which he portrayed Patrick, a mentally-challenged young man. He was also was featured in the role of Vashti in the series Homeboys in Outer Space. Feature film appearances include Bound with Joe Pantiliano and Jennifer Tilly, BASEketball and the Carl Reiner film, Fatal Instinct.

A classically-trained actor, Richardson first gained recognition as one of only eight U.S. high school students selected for the National Foundation for the Arts' Arts '82 program. As a result of this he earned a scholarship to Syracuse University and a spot on a PBS special directed by the esteemed late John Houseman.

Richardson was married this past May. Currently he and his wife, Monica, live in Los Angeles with her two sons from a previous marriage, Anthony and Michael. A New York State native, Richardson is excited to return to work in Manhattan.
