Biography #2 (for Dharma & Greg)

The youngest in a family of nine from Wilmette, Illinois, Joel Murray started in theater as a fourth grader in The Wilmette Children's Theater production of Oliver. At Loyola Academy, Northern Illinois University and Loyola of Chicago he continued doing plays and was introduced to improvisation.

Murray was a founding member of The Improv and was hired into The National Touring Company of The Second City. Two years on the road and six months at their new suburban theater brought him to The Mainstage of The Second City, where he had watched his brothers, Brian Doyle and Bill, perform 15 years earlier.

Murray's stage credits include The Frog Prince, Albert's Bridge and Bleacher Bums. His feature films include Indecent Proposal, The Doors, The Cable Guy and the upcoming The Thin Pink Line, McClintock's Peach and It's All About You.

Murray is married and spends his leisure time writing, playing golf and coaching his sons in basketball and baseball.
