Biography #2 (for The Lyon's Den)

James Pickens Jr. stars as Terrence Christianson, the powerful attorney who worked very hard to get where he is, in the new NBC drama, The Lyon's Den.

Pickens hails from Cleveland, Ohio. He honed his acting skills in the New York Theater where he starred in A Raisin in the Sun and the Roundabout Theatre and performed in the historic Negro Ensemble Company's production of A Soldier's Play with Denzel Washington.

James has performed in over 20 films and has had the good fortune to work with many Oscar-winning directors. The list includes Warren Beatty's Bulworth, Stephen Soderbergh's Traffic, and four films for Barry Levinson: Liberty Heights, Sleepers, Sphere and Jimmy Hollywood, as well as Oliver Stone's Nixon and Rob Reiner's Ghosts of Mississippi.

On television, James was a series regular on The X-Files and he had recurring roles on various series including NYPD Blue, Philly, and Six Feet Under.

When James is not acting, he likes to bowl and play golf. He is also a major jazz fan. His big passion, however, is the rodeo in which he competes in team penning and team roping. His favorite charities are the Hole House Foundation and Broadway Cares.

James lives in Los Angeles.
