Trent Reznor

Michael Trent Reznor (born May 17, 1965 in Mercer, Pennsylvania), better known as Trent Reznor, is an American musician. He is best known as the founder and principal member of the band Nine Inch Nails. He is also the founder and owner of the record label Nothing Records. He currently lives in New Orleans.

His song Hurt was covered by Johnny Cash shortly before Cash's death.

Reznor produced Marilyn Manson's album Antichrist Superstar and the soundtracks for the films Natural Born Killers and Lost Highway. He is also fond of video games, and has soundscaped several, including id Software's hit Quake.

Trent returned to working with id Software in 2003 as the chief sound engineer for the widely anticipated upcoming video game DOOM 3. He later quit the project to return to working on his upcoming album, Bleedthrough.

In interviews and pre-publicity for the release of The Fragile, it was reported that Reznor had considered committing suicide during the period between The Downward Spiral (1994) and The Fragile (1999), though fortunately did not follow through with these thoughts.
