Leonard Roberts
Roberts grew up in St. Louis, and attended Chicago's famed DePaul University Theatre School, where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. He began his career on the stage in Chicago, appearing in numerous productions with several of the city's renowned theatre companies, including Steppenwolf Theatre, The Goodman Theatre, The Shakespeare Repertory Theatre, the Northlight and Bailiwick Theatre.
He launched his film career in the Windy City as well, appearing in small roles in Love Jones and Bill Duke's gangster epic, Hoodlum, before co-starring opposite Denzel Washington in Spike Lee's He Got Game. He just completed the starring role as boxer Joe Louis in the upcoming telefilm Joe and Max for director Steve James.
In addition to his twelve-episode arc on Buffy, Roberts' other television credits include a recurring role on the Chicago-based TV drama, Turks, guest-starring appearances on J*A*G, Freaky Links, Due South and Lifetime's Any Day Now, as well as co-starring roles in the NBC miniseries, The ‘60s and the BET telefilm, Masquerade.
