Stephen Spinella

Stephen Spinella has long displayed his versatility with a wide range of roles in film, television and the theatre.

Spinella's vast theatre credits include the Tony Award-winning performances on Broadway in Tony Kushner's Pulitzer Prize-winning play Angels in America, which earned him Tony and Drama Desk Awards two years in a row for Angels in America: Millennium Approaches and Angels in America: Perestroika. Spinella won an Obie Award as Perry in Joe Mantello's production of Love! Valour! Compassion!. Addtionally, Spinella earned another Drama Desk Award and a third Tony nomination in James Joyce's The Dead (with Christopher Walken). Other theatre credits include A View from the Bridge; Our Town (with Paul Newman); The Seagull (with Meryl Streep, directed by Mike Nichols); Elle; Electra (with Claire Bloom); Troilus and Cressida (for which he won best performance in Shakespeare in the NY Metropolitan Area).

On the big screen Spinella has worked with such directors as Tim Robbins, Paul Mazursky, Alfonso Cuaron and Michael Caton Jones. Feature credits include The Cradle Will Rock, Ravenous, Great Expectations, The Jackal and Faithful.

Spinella's television credits include roles in the groundbreaking And the Band Played On, Alias, The Education of Max Bickford, Frasier, Law & Order and Ed.

The actor attended New York University - The Tisch School of the Arts and currently resides in New York and Los Angeles.
