Clifton's passion for the art of acting keeps him drawn to both studio and independent features. Clifton recently finished working on the highly anticipated film Star Trek and is set to star in Crank 2. Additionally, he has a number of films set to be released over the next few years including The Perfect Game, based on the true story about a group of boys from Mexico who become the first non U.S. team to win the Little League World Series. Collins is arguably best known for his role as murderer 'Perry Smith,' opposite Phillip Seymour Hoffman, in the critically acclaimed Sony Classics film Capote. Capote follows Truman Capote during his research for his book In Cold Blood, an account of the murder of a Kansas family.

In 2006 Collins starred in the gritty cop drama Dirty, which he stars opposite Cuba Gooding Jr. in a 'Training Day' / 'Narc' type film. The film premiered last year in LA at AFI. Collins and Gooding star as two LA gang bangers turned cops who try and cover up a scandal with the LAPD. From his work in the limited-run FX series, Thief, Clifton was nominated for a 2006 Emmy Award for his work.

Collins' other notable film credits include Traffic, directed by Steven Soderbergh where Clifton played the unforgettable assassin 'Frankie Flowers' opposite Benicio Del Toro; Rules of Attraction, directed by Roger Avary for Lion's Gate; Tigerland, directed by Joel Schumacher and starring Colin Farrell; The Last Castle, directed by Rod Lurie and starring Robert Redford, James Gandolfini and Mark Ruffalo. Even at the beginning of his career, Collins found himself working with some of the town's bright young filmmakers including the Hughes Brothers' in Menace to Society and Dead Presidents, John Singleton's Poetic Justice, Kevin Reynolds' 187 and Antoine Fuqua's The Replacement Killers.

From an early age, Clifton Collins Jr. was encouraged to pursue his artistic talents by his actor-grandfather who allowed Clifton the opportunity to surround himself in the acting community. Born to a Mexican mother and a German father, Collins realized his diverse background coupled with strong intellect would provide for a unique quality rarely seen on screen.
