Mary-Margaret Humes
Humes can currently be seen on the WB series Dawson's Creek, playing the mother of lead character Dawson Leery.
Humes made her way from Florida to Los Angeles to pursue her acting career in the late 70's. Within a few short months, she was offered the lead role of Miriam, the vestal virgin, in Mel Brooks' History of the World, Part I.
Several guest-starring roles in episodic television followed. Then in 1992, Humes became a series regular on Eerie, Indiana. Originally debuting on NBC, the series is now running in syndication as one of the top-rated shows on the Fox Saturday morning kids lineup.
Humes has also had several high-profile movie of the week roles. She played a deranged lover who methodically kills her fiancé (played by Geraldo Rivera) in one of the last Perry Mason television movies, starring the late Raymond Burr. She also starred opposite her long-time friend Andy Griffith and John Ritter in the NBC thriller Gramps.
