Rel Hunt
Hunt was born in Sydney, Australia, and grew up with family in both Sydney and Los Angeles. After landing a few guest-starring roles and a few television commercials, Hunt landed his first TV series, Heartbreak High, in which he played high school bad boy and heartthrob Ryan Scheppers. Heartbreak High is Australia's number one night time exported show, and airs in over 80 countries.
After making 100 episodes of Heartbreak High, doing several international press and publicity tours for the series, and co-starring in the Australian telemovie Time and Tide, Hunt decided to leave the series and Australia to further his acting career in the States.
Within three months of arriving back in Los Angeles, Hunt was asked to test for two TV pilots during the same week - a fact that was featured in the New York Times in a story on the frenzy surrounding the casting of teen actors. Hunt chose a half-hour family drama pilot for Imagine TV/WBN, Eli's Theory, in which he played Connor Brooks, a motorcycle rebel who befriends and protects the boy genius next door.
CNN later produced a Day in the Life segment on Hunt, which aired as a part of CNN's International coverage of the Australian Film Festival. Leeza Gibbons also profiled him in her E! Entertainment Television one hour special, The Obsession With Youth In Hollywood.
When Eli's Theory did not get picked up as a series, Hunt was added to the cast of Manchester Prep, a television version of the successful feature film Cruel Intentions. Hunt was cast for a seven-episode arc as Nigel Danby, the charming British student majoring in the seduction of his female classmates. The series, which was considered too risqué for television, never aired.
Hunt then co-starred with Bryan Brown in an Australian film titled Dear Claudia, playing Anton, a young lonely constable in an isolated small town. In his next feature, Hunt co-starred as Buddy Lyle opposite Jodi O'Keefe in Teacher's Pet, a psychological horror film.
Hunt has recently made Los Angeles his permanent home.
