Laurence Malkin
For his short films and visual poems, Mr. Malkin also has received several awards, like a CINE Eagle Award and a bronze medal at the Houston Film Festival and a nomination for Best Drama at the Tokyo Electronic Cinema Festival.
During his graduation term at the Northwestern University, Mr. Malkin began his theatre carreer by working with actors, the creation of art pieces and directing the highly praised productions The Tempest and Waiting for Godot. He went on receiving his USC Masters degree after which he kept concentrated on writing as well as directing.
Lately he has been occupied with coproducing and writing The Musicosm, an episodical Website about the music industry.
As a frequent lecturer on writing and directing, Mr. Malkin lectured at the Duke University, Stuart Hall, Northwestern and the UCLA Extension Program. He's an experienced particpant to all major fairs and festivals like Sundance, NATPE, AFM, Cannes, Venice, Toronto and MIPCOM.
Mr. Malkin and his co-writer Chad Thumann have written the script for Soul Assassin and will make a list with three news scripts going into production in 2000 and 2001.
