Reed R. McCants

Deftly handling the savory role of the CIVIL BRAND villain Warden Nelson is actor Reed R. McCants. A versatile screen presence, McCants' credits range from the dramatic to the more light-hearted. In 1987, McCants guest starred in the acclaimed television series A Different World, marking the first time the actor would collaborate with CIVIL BRAND director Neema Barnette. Among McCants film roles are Project X, a sci-fi/comedy starring Matthew Broderick; Justin Case, a comedy helmed by legendary director Blake Edwards; the Cable ACE award nominated Better Off Dead, with Mare Winningham; the NAACP—award nominated Run for the Dream: The Gail Devers Story; and Spirit Lost, co-written by CIVIL BRAND writer Joyce Renee Lewis and directed by that film's Neema Barnette. He is also Founder and Artistic Director of the Live Theater Gang, a New York-based collective that encourages, mentors and teaches young men and women an appreciation for the live theatre performance.
