Valarie Pettiford
Her performance on Broadway in Fosse earned her nominations for Tony, Grammy, Outercritics and Dora Mavor Moore awards. Her other Broadway and national tour credits include playing Velma in Chicago, in London's West End opposite the legendary Chita Rivera. She performed in Bob Fosse's national tour of Dancin' and in his last Broadway show, Big Deal, as principal dancer, actress, singer and dance captain. She starred with Hal Prince on Broadway as Fleta in Grind and in the first national tour of Showboat as the tragic heroine, Julie, a performance which earned her a Vancouver Sun Readers Choice Award and an NAACP Image Award.
In addition to appearing in numerous television commercials, Pettiford created the role of Sheila Price on One Life to Live. She has guest starred on The X-Files, Walker, Texas Ranger, Men, Women & Dogs, Sliders, Silk Stockings, The Division, Any Day Now and most recently on The West Wing, State of Grace and Frasier. Pettiford also had recurring roles on The District, Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, Fame and Another World.
Price's film credits include Glitter with Mariah Carey, The Wiz, Cotton Club and the upcoming Like Mike.
Pettiford makes her home in Los Angeles with her husband, Tony Rader, and their dog, Buster.
