He made his film debut in the short Rddio Gogó, by José Araripe Jr. He went on to play a minor part in Women on Top, filmed by Venezuelan directress Fina Torres in Bahia and the U. S. and in Behind the Sun by Walter Salles. In As Três Marias, he played desuino Cruz, a hired killer known as the Devil's Steed (the role won him the Best Actor award in the CineCeará festival). In O Homem do Ano, Wagner is Suel. In Deus É Brasileiro, he plays the fisherman Taoca, and in 0 Caminho das Nuvens, he is a father who sets out on a bicycle journey across Brazil with his wife and five children.
