David Flebotte

David Flebotte now produces Will & Grace after he spent the previous two years at 8 Simple Rules -- where he served as one of the writers on the episode that dealt with the sudden passing of the show's star, John Ritter. He also developed Commando Nanny for The WB with reality producer Mark Burnett (NBC's The Apprentice, The Contender).

Flebotte was born in Dorchester, Massachusetts but grew up on the south shore in the small town of Hanson. He attended Massassoit Community College in Brockton, Massachusetts for two years before transferring to Emerson College in downtown Boston, where he graduated as a creative writing major in 1989. While at Emerson, Flebotte wrote and performed with the Emerson Comedy Workshop and wrote for the Omnivore, Emerson's humor magazine. He also took a course in comedy that was taught by a then-struggling stand-up comedian, Denis Leary.

Flebotte moved to Los Angeles in 1990 and worked for three years waiting tables and writing numerous spec scripts. He finally landed a job with TV executives Bonnie and Terry Turner during their presentation for She TV. He went on to write for Good Advice, then The Five Mrs. Buchanans, before meeting fellow executive producer Alex Herschlag at Ellen where he worked for two years.

Flebotte resides in Los Angeles with his son Zachary and daughter Emma.
