Amerie

R&B singer Amerie makes her acting debut in FIRST DAUGHTER. Her debut album, All I Have, for Columbia Records, was certified Gold. Amerie's first single, Why Don't We Fall in Love, released in 2002, set the groundwork for her career.

The Korean and African-American performer has worked with two of hip-hop's biggest stars, Nas and LL Cool J. In 2003, she won the Soul Train Music Award for Best R&B/Soul or Rap New Artist. She then toured the country with Usher and Nelly. After completing the tour, Amerie hosted a daily television show on BET, The Center, which examined topics affecting today's teens. She was instrumental in the show's launch and overall direction, working closely with the producer, and even writing some of the episodes.

Amerie's second LP is due early 2005. She teams with Grammy-winning producer Rich Harrison, who also produced All I Have. The new album promises to stay true to its roots: gritty and hard-hitting, yet melodic and beautiful. The overall feel is more aggressive than her debut effort, from the writing to the musical production.
