Lise Simms

Lise Simms is an American actress, singer and dancer. Her name is pronounced LEECE. Lise grew up in Southern, Colorado. She is the sixth of nine children of Bill & Jacque Simms. Her father, Bill Simms is a water color artist. She's married to the actor, Terry Rhoads; the couple currently have no children. Simms began her acting career at age 13. She is a 1988 graduate of Oklahoma State University with a BS in journalism before taking a career in designing.

Broadway

Before television roles, Lise starred in countless plays such as Other People's Money, Mame, Can-Can, Sweet Charity, and Bye Bye Birdie. She was also the original Los Angeles cast member of Beauty and the Beast and toured around the world with A Chorus Line.

Television

She was the host of Style Network's Area. She had a recurring role on Sunset Beach, but is best known for her role as Barbara Diffy, Phil's half-robot mom in the Disney Channel series Phil of the Future. She had a recurring role as Connie Wayne in the soap opera The Young and the Restless, and made guest appearances on Friends, Providence, Madtv, 3rd Rock From the Sun, and many others. Simms even performed for President Reagan in 1988's Great Performances at the White House series, which aired on PBS.

She has been in the commercials for Jenga, Tums and Maalox. At one time, she co-hosted an Infomorcial for the AeroBed using her real name. She had also been in Disney Channel's Express Yourself commercials with Disney Channel stars and Phil of the Future cast members.
