Biography #2 (for Help Me Help You)

Originally wanting to be a dancer, Chicago native Suzy Nakamura performed in a grade school production of H.M.S. Pinafore and a high school production of Mame. After high school, she took an improv class and started performing in shows throughout Chicago. She also did a number of small productions, including a theater festival in Siberia. In her third year of college, Nakamura auditioned for The Second City and was quickly hired. This prompted her to leave school to tour with the national touring company, and she has never looked back.

After moving to Los Angeles, Nakamura began guest starring on television, eventually landing recurring roles on The West Wing and Curb Your Enthusiasm. Her other TV credits include regular roles on The Closer, opposite Tom Selleck, and Daddio, with Michael Chiklis, as well as guest appearances on The King of Queens, 8 Simple Rules and According to Jim.

Her film credits include Dodgeball, Stark Raving Mad, Timecode, Must Love Dogs and the award-winning independent films Strawberry Fields (Venice Int'l Film Festival), Treasure Island (Sundance Special Jury Prize) and Barrier Device (Student Academy Award). She will soon be seen in For Your Consideration, directed by Christopher Guest.

In her spare time Nakamura makes regular appearances in various improvisational and sketch comedy shows around the city. She also volunteers for Food on Foot, a Los Angeles-based non-profit organization that not only provides meals for the homeless and needy, but rehabilitates them through a work-for-food program.
