Mike Elliott

Mike Elliott has produced more than one hundred feature and television films, in every genre, for such diverse companies as 20th Century Fox, Warner Bros., Showtime, Columbia/Tri-Star, HBO, Lionsgate, Paramount, MGM, Universal and USA. His films have appeared in many major festivals, including Tribeca, London, New York, Tokyo, Berlin, Telluride, Slamdance, Milan, Los Angeles, Montreal, Toronto, and Sundance.

Elliott's feature credits currently in production include THE EYE, the long anticipated remake of the Pang Brothers' horror classic, PERFECT CHRISTMAS, starring Gabrielle Union, Morris Chestnut and Queen Latifah, RAZORTOOTH, the horror/thriller directed by Patricia Harrington, and PRIDE, starring Terrence Howard and Bernie Mac. He is currently preparing the romantic comedy, BACHELOR NUMBER 2, starring Dane Cook and Kate Hudson.

Other recent credits include the critical hit, PEACEFUL WARRIOR, starring Nick Nolte and Amy Smart, THE DEVIL'S REJECTS, directed by Rob Zombie, AMERICAN PIE: BAND CAMP, starring Eugene Levy, and HAPPY ENDINGS, starring Lisa Kudrow, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Lara Dern, which opened the Sundance Film Festival, and was presented with the Spirit of Sundance Award.

Past features include the Toronto Film Festival premiere, ALL I WANT, starring Elijah Wood, Franka Potente and Mandy Moore, which was financed independently and sold to Columbia/Tri-Star, PRIDE, starring Terrence Howard and Bernie Mac, the Paramount Pictures romantic comedy, THE PRINCE & ME, starring Julia Stiles, and, ATTRACTION, which starred Gretchen Mol and Tom Everett Scott, and premiered at the Toronto Film Festival and was also selected as the closing night feature at the L.A. Film Festival. Elliott also produced the Telluride Film Festival premiere, COMIC BOOK VILLAINS, starring Donal Logue, Michael Rapaport and Natasha Lyonne, SKIPPED PARTS, starring Jennifer Jason Leigh and Drew Barrymore, and Ernest Hemingway's AFTER THE STROM, which starred Benjamin Bratt and won top honors at multiple festivals including New York and City of Angels.

A leader in the booming market for DVD and video sequels to theatrical features, Elliott produced CASPER: A SPIRITED BEGINNING, which became and remains the best-selling non-Disney video of all time, and was honored as the VSDA's Video of the Year. Elliott has developed and produced sequels for most major studios, including top selling sequels to the films ADDAMS FAMILY, RICHIE RICH, TIMECOP, BEETHOVEN, TURBULENCE, and AMERICAN PIE. His sequel to THE PRINCE & ME was honored at this year's VSDA as both Family Title of the Year, and Rental Title of the Year, from an independent studio. He is currently posting a sequel to WAR GAMES and prepping another sequel to THE PRINCE & ME.

Prolific in the world of cable features and television movies, Elliott also produced the original cable movie, AU PAIR, which remains the highest rated movie in the twenty seven year history of the ABC Family Channel. His other number one rated cable movies include THE MICHAEL JORDAN STORY, THE COWBOY AND THE MOVIE STAR, HOME FOR CHRISTMAS, THE ELIAN GONZALEZ STORY, and AU PAIR II. AU PAIR III is currently in production. His series credits include Instant Comedy, for F/X, which ran for 65 episodes. He recently produced a one hour television pilot, Wifey, which has just been greenlit to series as a co-production between VH1 and B.E.T.

Elliott develops, packages, finances and produces film and television projects through his Los Angeles based production company, Capital Arts Entertainment. Founded in 1994, Capital Arts enjoys a reputation as one of the leading independent production companies in the world. Elliott is also an owner/partner in Push, a Los Angeles-based distribution company that handles some of Capital Arts' product, and also acquires and sells independent features worldwide.

A magna cum laude graduate of Cornell University, Elliott has guest lectured there and at other colleges, including Columbia University, New York University, UCLA and USC.

He has been a member of the board of directors the Independent Producers Association, the production arm of the IFTPA, and the Groundlings Theatre in Los Angeles. He grew up in Oregon and lives in Los Angeles, California.
