Ana Claudia Talancon

Ana Claudia Talancon first garnered international attention for her performance in Carlos Carrera's The Crime of Father Amaro, opposite Gael Garcia Bernal. The film garnered Academy Award and Golden Globe nominations for Best Foreign Film, and amassed the highest box office figures in Mexican film industry history. The National Board of Review named it one of 2002's top five foreign films.

Talancon made her screen debut opposite Diego Luna in The Comet for directors Jose Buil and Maria Sistach. For her role, Talancon received an Ariel (Mexico's national film award) nomination for Best New Actress. Her other film credits include the Sundance entry Matando Cabos, directed by Alejandro Lozano; Renee Chabria's Sueno, produced by Marc Forster and starring John Leguizamo; the Mexican hit Ladies Night; and Rafael Gutierrez' Mujer Alabastrina.

More recently, Taloncon appeared in the 2006 Cannes Film Festival competition entry Fast Food Nation, directed and co-written by Richard Linklater. The ensemble film explores fast food industry health risks and also stars Ethan Hawke, Greg Kinnear and Catalina Sandino Moreno. Talancon also starred in the 2006 Tribeca Film Festival selection Alone With Her, written and directed by Eric Nicolas.

Born in Cancun, Mexico, Talancon studied with Albio Paz and at the Acting Workshop of Hector Mendoza and Raul Quintanilla in Mexico City. Her early credits include Mexican, Argentine and Brazilian telenovelas.
