Lotte Verbeek
Lotte Verbeek won the best actress prize at the Locarno International Film Festival in 2009 for her starring role opposite Stephen Rea in Nothing Personal, filmed in Ireland at the old hunting house of Oscar Wilde.
Verbeek, who speaks five languages, was born and raised in Holland and studied ballet and theater for seven years at the Theater School in Amsterdam. She appeared in a Dutch television series during her studies and, for her internship, played five roles in the 2008 feature film Links. She then went to Paris on a scholarship to study drama and, with her ability to speak Italian, was cast in two episodes of the upcoming Italian television series Swing Girls. Filmed in Turin, the show centers on a Jewish female singing trio in the 1940s.
