Courtney Merritt
Merritt was born in New York City and moved to Jupiter, Fla., at the age of one and a-half. At the age of 4, she performed onstage for the first time as the Dormouse in Through the Looking Glass. Over the next 9 years, Merritt pursued acting on local stages in Florida and did several print and runway jobs.
At the age of 13, Merritt moved back to New York City with her mother and sister to further pursue her acting career. She landed one of her first auditions for a play that appeared in the American Living Room Festival. She performed in numerous stage productions and over 20 student and indie films. She starred in the independent film Late Bloomer which was accepted into the Sundance Film Festival.
In 2007, Merritt was convinced by industry executives to make the move to Los Angeles. Shortly after arriving, she had her first audition for the role of Betty in The Crucible at the Matrix Theatre in West Hollywood. She landed the part and from there she went on to perform in several other plays including the role of Clarisse in Fahrenheit 451 at Ray Bradbury's Pandemonium Theatre.
