John Pasquin
Pasquin recently worked as producer and director on ABC's hit comedy The George Lopez Show for the first half of the 2003 season. It was there that he met Sandra Bullock who is an executive producer on the show.
Most recently, Pasquin directed Joe Somebody, starring Tim Allen, Jim Belushi and Julie Bowen. In 1997, he directed Jungle 2 Jungle, starring Tim Allen, JoBeth Williams and Martin Short. The film was Pasquin's first feature film project since his directorial debut of the box office smash hit The Santa Clause, which holds the honor of being Walt Disney Pictures' all-time highest grossing live-action feature, making Pasquin the third most successful first-time filmmaker of all time.
Prior to translating his talent to the feature film arena, Pasquin was an integral part of some of the most successful shows in television. He was honored with two Emmy nominations for his work as the original director, producer and one of the creative forces behind ABC's Home Improvement. Pasquin was also honored with another Emmy nomination as well as a Directors Guild of America Award nomination for his direction of the popular night-time drama LA Law. He is also credited as the inaugural director of the drama series thirtysomething.
Pasquin has directed several other series for television including a season of Roseanne and multiple episodes of Family Ties, Growing Pains, Newhart and Alice. His association with writer/producer Marc Lawrence goes back to his Family Ties days, as Pasquin directed Lawrence's first episode on that show. Their professional paths would cross again later when Pasquin began The Santa Clause and Lawrence came in to do a rewrite.
Before joining the Hollywood community, Pasquin spent ten years honing his skills and gaining critical acclaim directing Off-Broadway and regional theatre productions around the United States. He was honored with an Obie Award for his direction of the well-received play Moonchildren, and he also directed numerous productions for Joseph Papp's Shakespeare Festival in New York.
