John Cleese

John Cleese shot to fame in The Frost Report in 1966 and in 1969 co-created Monty Python's Flying Circus. The Python team went on to conquer the world with three cult TV series and four hugely successful films -- And Now For Something Completely Different, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, The Life of Brian, and The Meaning of Life, as well as various international stage shows. Cleese then created the irrepressible Basil Fawlty, the hotel manager from hell, in Fawlty Towers, one of the most successful TV series of all time.

Cleese starred in and co-wrote (with director Charles Crichton) A Fish Called Wanda, one of the most successful British films of all time He then reunited the four stars of that film in 1996 to make Fierce Creatures.

Cleese's other film credits include The Great Muppet Caper, Time Bandits, Privates on Parade, Silverado, Clockwise, Terry Jones' Erik the Viking, Eric Idle's Splitting Heirs, Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, The Jungle Book and The Wind in the Willows.
