More Kathryn Erbe Bios & Profiles
Biography #2Kathryn Erbe, a classically trained actress, has been a member of the prestigious Steppenwolf Theatre Company since 1993. But this willowy actress has routinely broken stereotypes with gritty performances in HBO's stark prison series Oz, and humorous roles in films like What About Bob?, starring Bill Murray.
Following graduation from New York University in 1990, Erbe earned a Tony nomination for Best Featured Actress in a play for The Speed of Darkness. She played Richard Dreyfuss' daughter in the hit comedy What About Bob? in 1991 and Albert Finney's daughter in the acclaimed ensemble film Rich in Love the following year. The young actress turned in another comedic performance in D2: The Mighty Ducks (1994), but her career took a dramatic turn when she played a student in the horror film The Addiction (1995) for cult director Abel Ferrara. Erbe has also tackled tough acting roles in the television dramas Oz and Law & Order: Criminal Intent.
